To the right is the tabernacle, the small box or case located next to the altar that contains the consctrated host of the Eucharist. Parishioners of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, located at 4047 Northeast 21st Street, celebrate with a Christmas Eve Mass, with an early start time at 4pm, and another in the evening and one Christmas day. Father Andrew Mallick (cq) pastor, of the Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, also has two mission churches, was busy getting his vestments on for his trip to St. Joseph of the Forest Church, in Silver Springs and then traveling to a Mass at St. Hubert of the Forest Catholic Church, in Astor, all on Christmas Eve. “It is the birth of Christ: Joy, love and rejoicing! It is the end of the Advent season. . . Give glory to God on high!” stated Father Mallick. Father Ronald Oser (cq), serves as the parochial vicar, and was the celebrant at the 4pm Mass. The church’s patroness, Our Lady, the mother of Jesus, and the near by location of the famous waters of Silver Springs, combined to give the name to the church, that recently celebrated 25 year anniversary with a special Mass and a vist of local Diocese of Orlando Bishop Thomas Wenski(cq). The Advent season, a special period of four weeks prior to the coming of Christmas Day, is ended in the celebration nativity scenes, special church services, prayers, carols and gift giving for Christians throughout the world that observe the birth of the baby Jesus, marked on December 25. – Saturday afternoon, December 24, 2005, Ocala, FL.
